We are Fresh Cut Flower Marketers.
GEMS was founded in April of 2003 by Bonnie Armellini and Carlos Oramas. Having worked in floral marketing and distribution for over 35 years combined, our founders set out to create a company where the customer was always right, where consistency was the standard, and with a series of programs that created consumer demand.
Our team of dedicated people have a passion for marketing fresh cut flowers. They realize that our products touch the lives of millions of Americans each year. From first dates to birthdays, house warmings to just because, we are proud to be a part of each moment.

Partnering with mother nature carries lots of responsibility. We take this very seriously and recognize our roles as stewards of this planet.
As a result, we have invested time and resources in developing products that are grown using earth friendly practices.
From bio-degradable packaging, to office level energy conservation, we will continue to do our part in caring for the environment.

Our flowers are grown in the rich soil and ideal climates of Central and South America. Here our planet offers cool nights, sundrenched days and mountainous backdrops.
The residents of these spanish speaking countries are warm hearted family people with a longstanding relationship with the land. For centuries they have been partners, and as a result perfected the balance between human involvement and natural production.
Our varieties are selected from the best breeders in the world, and brought to the farms for planting.
When nature has done its part, each stem is carefully cut, bunched and graded according to a series of strict protocols.
They are then placed in ideal hydrating solutions developed by leading Dutch floriculture experts to remove any bacteria and facilitate the consumption of water and nutrients.
Soon after, they are assembled into ready made bunches for our consumers in the United States and Canada, and moved into refrigeration to prepare them for the journey North.
Each step in the process has been created with the consumer in mind. From variety selection selection to packaging, it is all brought together to create a perfect product experience.
As we see it, our role is simply to reveal nature.
